Giulia Ave Bono

Dipartimento di Bioscienze

My name is Giulia Ave Bono. I graduated in Molecular Biotechnology and Bioinformatics from Università degli Studi di Milano in 2020. I completed my PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology at Università degli Studi di Milano in May 2025, presenting a thesis entitled “Defining the function of rice florigenic proteins during the reproductive transition and inflorescence development.”
My research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms that regulate the development of rice inflorescence, using key techniques in molecular biology. I have successfully applied some of the most advanced DNA editing methods, including CRISPR-Cas9 and Prime Editing, to develop rice lines relevant to my research project.
